What do you suggest I use to break in my holster?

The first thing you should do is check the fit of your holster with your UNLOADED handgun.  The Holster will probably be tight at first but this is normal.  I recommend breaking it in around the house before using it for carry.   With your UNLOADED handgun you can practice drawing and re-holstering to help with break in.  You may also place your UNLOADED handgun in the holster and simply leave it for a few hours.
In some cases, if the holster is extremely tight, you can use the bag the holster came in or a similar style storage bag to help with break in.  The bags we ship the holster to you in are 4 mil. and thicker than the standard plastic storage bag therefore these will probably work best.  Carefully insert your UNLOADED handgun into the corner of the bag and then insert the bagged handgun into the holster.  It may take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours but this should stretch the holster a few thousandths of an inch.  Periodically check it until the fit and draw feels right to you without the bag.
The holster will also break in to your body and the handgun naturally as you wear and use it.  Please do not put any type of chemical, conditioner, etc. onto the holster to help with break in.  Do not crush or flex the holster in trying to break it in as this can cause the holster to loose its shape and ruin it.

How do I care for my holster?

I don't recommend using any type of oils or conditioners.  They may soften the leather and cause it to loose its form.  My holsters have an acrylic finish which helps give them a shine and acts as a water repellent.  The holster should be fine for a long time and shouldn't need anything other than an occasional wipe down with a damp cloth.  That being said you never want to let your holster get wet.  But if the holster does become wet (I had a customer fall in the lake while wearing a holster) let your holster dry naturally.  Do not use any type of heat.  (Blow Dryer, Oven, etc.)  Also do not crush or flex the holster as this will ruin it and I do not recommend wearing your holster empty (without the handgun) for any length of time.

Do you offer lining for your holsters?

I do now offer smooth leather lining.  Price will depend on the holster type.  (Email for details and to order.)
My standard holsters are burnished smooth on the inside but due to several requests I have decided to now offer my holsters with smooth leather lining.  Please bear in mind that if your pistol has very sharp serrations on the front or muzzle end of the slide they may cause damage to the lining and there is nothing I can do about that.  If your pistol has sharp serrations you may not want to choose to have your holster lined.
After research, it is my opinion that any holster will eventually cause finish wear regardless of whether the holster is lined or not.  Some suede type linings can cause more holster wear by collecting dirt and grit that is why I chose to use smooth leather lining and do not offer suede.

Can you make a holster for a lefty?

Yes, all of my holsters can be made left or right handed.

What type of clips do you suggest?

The standard seem to be the most popular.  I personally think that the standard clips are the most stable.  But I do have quite a few orders for the J clips and C clips.  With my IWB holsters all the clips are interchangable.  Extra clips can always be ordered.

How do I get extra clips or replace a broken clip for my tuckable holster?

Kydex clips have a 90 day warranty from the date of purchase for the original purchaser.  The kydex clips are well made and sturdy however they are not metal and are not indestructible.  Care should be taken when putting the holster on or taking it off.  Do not use the clips as a handle to remove your holster.  You should pull the clip  (standard & P clips) out just enough to release it from the belt and then grip the holster to remove it from your waistband.  If your clip is broken and under warranty you must contact me by email before sending it back for a replacement.  If you need extra clips they can be ordered through email for $8 per clip.  Shipping is $2 for small orders.

My belt slots are snug.  Is this normal?

They are made to be snug and do require some break in.  My belt slots/loops are made to fit my belts which are approximately 1/4" thick and work fine for most other belts.  I cannot guarantee that they will fit every belt out there since other belt makers may use thicker or thinner leather to make their belts.

I need my holster in a hurry.  Can you do this?

Everything is made per order and we do not normally keep anything in stock.  If you need your order quickly we do offer an expedite service on all our standard products only.  This will not include exotics, horsehide or any type of custom work, no exceptions.  Please do not ask.  The charge will be $40 extra per item to ship within 7 - 10 business days, excluding weekends and holidays, pending payment and verification.  The expedited orders will be made with the help of our oldest son who works part time with us while going to college.  By having the extra help it allows us to offer the expedited option without affecting our other customer's turn around time.   Please contact us for more information.

What is the internal stiffener for belts and do I need it?

The internal stiffener is a strip of woven nylon webbing.  It is sewn between the two layers of the belt.  The internal stiffener greatly reinforces the belt while still allowing the belt to take on the natural curve of the body with break in.  In my opinion and in most cases for a 1 1/2" dual layer gun belt the internal stiffener is not needed for carrying normal CCW gear unless you just really like a stiff belt.  If you plan on carrying a lot of heavy gear then this may be an option to consider for greater support. Also, my 1 1/4" belts are usually sufficient for normal CCW gear as well, however, if you plan on carrying a large or heavy handgun, or a high ride top heavy holster this may be a good option for you.
